Thank you to the over 60 teams that started off the New Year of adventure racing on a cold morning and brisk day in Clearmont. Often taking mutiple ice baths, the Elite teams put up with some incredible conditions during the morning paddle. The heavy winds and whitecaps forced us to shorten the Sport race paddle just to be on the safe side. It was unfortunate, but the Sport teams did really well adjusting to the course changes. And the Elite teams that managed to complete the entire paddle were rewarded with a fun ride into the beach.
It was a day full of surprises for sure but it was still capped off with some great racing. Both classes were very competetive up top. Good'Nuff took their second straight race while Bitter Carnies notched their first win in the Sport. There was plenty of competition for the podiums and sometimes penalties made the difference. Sorry for the surprise gear check but be warned you will see it again.
We hope everyone had a good time. Thank you to Manny Otero from Nature Calls for designing the course. It was our first time in Lake Louisa SP and we loved it. If you have any comments or race reports they would like to share let us know.
And a Reminder there will be a Pangea Gives Back (PBG) event this Saturday at Rock Springs Run State Reserve, Sorrento, FL. Helping to clear overgrowth on white blazed trail which is multi use bike/hiking trail. Entrance fee waived and pangea shirt provided. Email Dennis Wagner from BearBait I if your are interested in helping from 9:00 am til 12:00.
