LighterKnot AR
SPORT 3 Hour and ELITE 8 Hour Adventure Race
Results are Official
Thanks to everyone who came out and raced the 2012 LighterKnot AR. We couldn't have asked for a better day to get out and experience the beautiful grounds of
Princess Place Preserve and the
Florida Agricultural Museum. Right now and the upcoming months are really a great time to be outdoors in Florida. We're glad to be there with you taking advantage of it.
Special thanks to John and Craig Sheriff from
Sheriff's Posse for creating the Elite and Sport courses and also hand-crafting the winners' trophies from actual lighterknot. These two worked really hard to make the races fun for everyone while scouring the area for new and interesting places to go. Some Elite racers were very happy that the course stretched into places unseen before. We know they've only just begun and plan to explore even more of the area for next year. Great job guys.
The
Sport race was fast with nearly half the teams clearing the course in time. Congratulations to
Cow Tipping Dwarfs for running a perfect race for their second win of the year. The
Elite race was fast as well but had a lot of CPs to get to in eight hours.
Florida Xtreme 2 did a really good job to get through the entire course in time for what is surprisingly their first win of the year. In the last tune-up race before the championship, it was good momentum for them beating the teams they will see next month.
The 2012 LighterKnot AR was a great day for many. A couple teams were celebrating their one-year anniversary with us and have an awesome time racing with us all season. Team
Pretty Tough also raced with their eight and nine year-old daughters and did fantastic. If you have race reports or just stories to tell let us know. Email us at
info@pangeaadventureracing.com and we would love to publish it on our site.
Congrats to all the Elite teams that got the
60 points this year to qualify for the championship next month at the
Turkey Burn AR. Don't forget the event is for anyone who wants to race but the season champions will be decided between the teams that qualified. We'll see you there for another great day outdoors.
